Reaping the Rewards of Short‐Term Residency and Out‐Patient Therapy
As Betty Hicks walked across the parking lot to visit her doctor for a sinus infection, she never expected to end up in the hospital with a broken humerus. It was an unexpected fall. Accidents happen. In an instant, life as she knew it, changed.
“I was helpless when I had to leave the hospital.” Upon recommendation of her physician, Ms. Hicks admitted to Superior Care Home’s short‐term rehab program and spent approximately two months receiving physical and occupational therapies with 24/7 nursing care and assistance.
“Whenever I needed assistance, the entire staff was so kind and eager to help. I am so thankful for the therapy and being able to do things for myself again. When it was time to go home, I needed outpatient therapy to complete my full recovery. There was no doubt that I would come back to Superior Care Home to continue rehab. I knew the therapists and the therapists knew me and exactly what I needed.” After a month of outpatient treatment, Betty has resumed a full and active lifestyle. She often drops in to say hello and check on the friends she made during her Superior Care Home stay.
