Teresa Nance, SRNA

Teresa Nance, SRNA, has served Superior Care Home as a nursing assistant for 24 years. When she came for her job interview, she wasn’t sure what she wanted to do. There was an opening for a nursing assistant, and she agreed to give it a try. (At that time, state registration wasn’t required.) She fondly remembers that on her second day, she knew this was her calling.

Since that time, Teresa has earned her state registration and is certified as a nursing assistant preceptor. Throughout the course of her career, she has been recognized as Employee of the Month, selected as Employee of the Year and honored with our facility Leadership Award in 2007. Teresa was the recipient of The KAHCF Western District Nursing Assistant Professional Achievement Award in 2008. She has earned the respect and trust of residents, families and co-workers. Her care is characterized by a strong work ethic, teamwork, commitment to giving her best and an attitude of service.

“I love helping people … it’s who I am. It’s my calling. Knowing that I have a part in making our residents happy and being there when I’m needed is rewarding to me.” When asked what makes for a great nursing assistant, she responds, “It takes a love of people, compassion, respect for residents and their families, and patience.”
