Will Medicare pay for my stay?

Yes, you are eligible to use your Medicare skilled nursing benefits under Medicare Part A following a qualifying inpatient hospital stay, provided a skilled service (such as therapy) is being rendered.

How long will I need to stay?

You may stay if you are receiving a skilled service. If that service is therapy, you may stay until you achieve your goals, have returned to your prior level of functioning, or have stopped making progress.

How much does my supplement pay?

This depends on your insurance plan. If you are admitted under Medicare Part A, Medicare will cover 100% of your costs for the first 20 days. After that, you will likely have a daily co-pay. That amount will depend on the coverage in your specific insurance plan.

We work with standard Medicare and Medicare replacement policies, along with several Managed Care plans. We are also are in the process of expanding our network to include more plans for those not yet eligible for Medicare. Ask your Superior Care Home representative for updated information on your specific plan.

Yes. Doctors are encouraged to follow their patients here. We ask that physicians become credentialed by Superior Care Home to streamline your care experience. We have round-the-clock nurse practitioners who will work closely with your physician/surgeon to ensure continuity of care throughout your rehabilitation.

Your family and/or friends are encouraged to provide transportation to appointments. If they are unable to do so or don’t have a vehicle that can accommodate your specific needs (i.e., a wheelchair), we can arrange for the Paducah Area Transit System (PATS) to provide your transportation.

How much therapy will I receive?

Your therapy program will be designed specifically for you, with the help of our interdisciplinary care team and your input. Depending on your needs, our therapy program is designed based upon your diagnosis, functional status, and your goals for discharge. Therapy programs can always be adjusted according to therapy tolerance and progress towards your goals.

Yes, if our therapists determine that you need more than five days of therapy a week, we will offer therapy on Saturdays and Sundays during your stay.

How will my pain be managed?

Your Superior Care Home team wants to make sure you are as comfortable as possible during your stay. We will coach you to communicate your level of pain accurately, anticipate the need for medication, and request it before your pain becomes intense.

Yes, there are many private rooms with en suite bathrooms. There are also shared rooms.

Each room comes with Wi-Fi and a flat-screen television with cable.

Yes! Your Superior Care Home team will confer with your physician/surgeon regarding your ability to take a shower. Your room is equipped with a private shower and certified nursing assistants are available to assist you, if needed.

You will have several options to choose from for each of three balanced gourmet meals plus snacks, all planned by our registered dietician, executive chef, and culinary team. If a visitor would like to dine with you, a ticket may be purchased from our receptionist. Visitors may also bring in meals and snacks during your stay. Please check with the dietician for any restrictions.

Family members and friends are welcome to visit at any time. The main entrance and Riverways (Transitions) entrances are open from 8 am–5 pm. Our nursing staff will enter a secure access code to open our Riverways door for your visitors who arrive after hours.

Superior Care Home is pet-friendly. We ask that health records be presented prior to your furry friend’s visit. Please ask Social Services for more information.

You may leave for day visits if you have physician and therapist approval; however, you are not permitted to stay away overnight.

Our Social Events programs are designed to help you stay active, engaged, and in good spirits. Activities include music therapy, art therapy, reading, storytelling, pet therapy, memory activities, church services, and more. A calendar listing daily activities will be posted in your room.

Superior Care Home’s laundry services are available during your stay. Laundry can also be taken home to wash by family or friends if you prefer.

Yes! A full-service salon is available by appointment. A member of your care team will be happy to help you schedule a time.
